What ages are little earthlings?
Our youngest are 2 years 10 months, and our oldest are about 5 and a half years old. Graduates in Kindergarten are welcome for summer sessions. Returning alumni 10 years or older may volunteer as “Junior Teachers” for summer sessions.
Where do you go during inclement weather?
On days when the wind exceeds 25 knots, or extreme or prolonged rain days occur, we go to the California Academy of Sciences, (included with enrollment.) The Academy also has a learning center with many kinds of fine motor and tactile opportunities as well as educational toys.
Where is the school?
Little earthlings forest school presently maintains two basecamps. Every other week we meet at the intersection of Middle Drive West and Overlook Drive near Metson Lake or the South Lake parking lot (on Chain of Lakes Drive ) in Golden Gate Park. We do also rotate through various sites within Golden Gate Park and Ocean Beach, chosen for their natural elements and safety. Families are notified of changes through our community group.
How much is tuition?
Our full-time schedule, 9am-3pm 5 days per week, is $540 per week, plus deposit. Tuition is charged weekly through direct deposit. If there is availability, students may enroll for half days or part-time.
What is your calendar?
We follow the San Francisco Unified School District calendar. We also have 4 summer sessions, From June to August.
Do children need to be potty-trained to attend?
Yes. However, we do work with some children, wherever they are in the potty-training process. Please talk to the director.
Are you licensed and accredited?
Most of America including the California state government do not currently license outdoor preschools. We are permitted with The San Francisco Recreation & Parks Department. David is certified as a Preschool Site Supervisor. He also has a Master of Arts in Early Childhood Education. All teachers have college degrees and
Certified in CPR training and Preventive Health (EMSA qualified coursework.)
Proof of U.S. work authorization.
A clear background check through LiveScan or Checkr.
A negative TB test result.
Up to date with immunizations as required by California Law.
Completed California Bullying Module.
Sexual Abuse and Misconduct Prevention training.
